Van Susteren is frustrated by the fact that a policy debate has taken a backseat to personal attacks

When conservatives start to lose the on air talent at Fox News in an argument, it might be time to pull back a bit. In a scathing piece Monday afternoon, a veteran of the conservative news outlet took to her blog on Fox’s website to call out some of the nastiest attacks on Sen. Wendy Davis. Specifically, she took issue with the barrage of insults lobbed by RedState’s Erick Erickson of “Abortion Barbie” fame. And, to be fair, of RedState fame.

Greta Van Susteren said that her point was not to defend Sen. Davis or her views. Van Susteren said there are honest critiques of the policy positions held by the Fort Worth Democrat “And then there are the creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion.” She pointed to Erickson’s Twitter feed where he regularly says things like “So Abortion Barbie has a Sugar Daddy” and speaks of the senator in diminutive terminology like "She's so cute when she's lying."
