If Cornyn were still AG, he would tell Clerks to abide by SCOTUS gay marriage ruling
“…he’d advise county clerks to operate within the law and begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, something current Attorney General Ken Paxton has not yet done.”
Here
is the full story from Lubbock Online, which includes this
about Sen. John Cornyn’s Thursday appearance in West
Texas:
“Speaking about the ruling that made
same-sex marriage legal in all states, he said he also disagreed with that
ruling. After the meeting when he was talking to media, Cornyn said if he were
attorney general, he’d advise county clerks to operate within the law and begin
issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, something current Attorney
General Ken Paxton has not yet
done.”
