Abbott and Sharp unveil their roadmap for recovery

John Sharp will swing through Texas
between now and Saturday to talk to communities in five affected areas: Sugar
Land, Houston, Victoria, Beaumont and Corpus Christi.
morning, Abbott confirmed Sharp would be the commissioner in the Governor’s
Commission to Rebuild Texas. The move was first reported by the Wall
Street Journal’s Russel Gold.
The commission is intended to provide efficient, effective and consistent
advocacy to regions of the state impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
concerns that Hurricane Irma might overshadow Texas’ rebuilding efforts,
punted the question of individual housing claims to FEMA and shut down the
question of the hot-and-cold response to the question of local control.
