HOUSTON — The Buzz Central crew spent roughly three-and-a-half hours at today’s eagerly anticipated meeting of Texas House budget writers tasked with looking at how to manage the fiscal aspects of this region’s recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

We’ll take a closer, more in depth look at what local leaders told lawmakers at the University of Houston but for now here are some things that had us saying “hmmm” today.

    Local leaders did not shy away from using the impact of the megastorm as an aid in their argument against efforts to restrict revenue growth by local jurisdictions.
