Attorneys clash over DACA in Houston federal courtroom
Judge delays decision and asks for further information
HOUSTON – US District Judge Andrew Hanen declined to issue a temporary injunction today to halt
the Obama-era program known as DACA, asking for additional briefs from both
sides, due on Monday.
Supporters of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
program, or DACA, set the bar low going into the Houston hearing today. Think
Progress quipped Hanen was the
love child that Kris
Kobach would have had with the Immigration
and Customs Enforcement agency if such a thing could happen, and called
Hanen “the most anti-immigrant judge in the country.”
