Updated: AG Paxton sends cease and desist letters to school districts for what he alleges is "unlawful electioneering"
Paxton points to social media posts; the Lewisville ISD says they're engaged in nothing "other than an effort to engage the LISD staff and community in their constitutional right to vote."
Attorney General Ken Paxton has sent cease and
desist letters to three school districts, accusing them of electioneering for particular candidates using social media.
Registered letters, dated Feb. 14, were delivered to the superintendents
and school board presidents of Lewisville, Holliday and Brazosport school districts. Paxton asked for a
response, and the removal of all alleged political messaging, by Friday.
