Chairs Hancock and Martinez Fischer announce push for reform to surprise medical billing, drawing fire from the docs
TMA pushes back, saying they’re disappointed Hancock “has chosen not to include medicine in discussions to this point.”
Senator
Kelly Hancock R, North Richland
Hills, on Thursday announced that he had filed a new bill as part of a bipartisan
push to prevent “surprise medical billing” of consumers in Texas.
He
was joined in a news conference by constituents of his district who had been
affected by the practice as well as members of the insurance industry along
with Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer,
D-San Antonio, who plans to file a companion bill in the Texas House.
The
subject of Senator Hancock’s SB 1264 is not a new issue for him.
