Federal FAST Act could cut $757 million out of Texas transportation spending

Without new discretion, Chairman Bugg said vital transportation projects will be impacted

A legislative update to the Texas Transportation Commission this past week included a warning from Chair Bruce Bugg that the state could face a $757 million reduction to its contracting authority under rescissions included the recent federal transportation act.

The Texas Transportation Commission sent a letter to the Texas delegation, dated June 17, that outlined the Texas Department of Transportation’s concerns.
