Medicaid cuts to Texas hospitals imminent without Congressional intervention

Nothing short of Congressional intervention this week will stop Texas hospitals from facing the loss of almost $450 million in Medicaid funds used to cover the cost of uncompensated care.

Those funds, referred to as the Disproportionate Share Hospital payment, or DSH, are set for cuts on Nov. 21, barring the passage of a continuing resolution.
