SB: Another GOP Texas House member confirms he has heard recording of Bonnen and Sullivan meeting

Rep. Tan Parker confirms he has heard the tape of Bonnen and MQ Sullivan’s meeting; meantime, contrary to rumor, there seems to be no movement at the Travis County DA’s office

Unless something changes – and of course it could that’s why we show up for work every day – the Capitol community’s interest seems to have waned a bit about the scandal involving a quid pro quo allegedly proposed by Speaker Dennis Bonnen to Michael Sullivan of Empower Texans.

Feels like waiting for a shoe to drop, as they say.

The calls and text messages from members and lobbyists have certainly slowed down and the mass shooting in El Paso has rightly captured the attention of everyone. That’s first on everyone’s mind.

But this is still simmering under the surface.
