With crude oil trading
just over $20 this afternoon, the chairmen of the Texas Senate
and Texas House Transportation Committees are now asking the head
of the Transportation Commission, Bruce Bugg, to hit pause
on any revisions to the state’s Unified Transportation Plan including
the proposed makeover
of I-35 in Austin.
Given the current economic
environment, they did not mince words about the need to postpone any road funding
decisions.
