HHSC moves to address COVID-19 outbreak at Denton SSLC
Finance Chair Nelson says "We are working around the clock to mitigate the spread of the virus at the Denton State Supported Living Center. These are vulnerable Texans with unique needs and protecting them is of the utmost importance”
The Health and Human
Services Commission and Sen. Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound,
announced additional steps today to address the rapid spread of COVID-19 at the
Denton State Supported Living Center.
The Denton SSLC is home to
about 450 adults with intellectual and development disabilities. A total of
seven cases have been diagnosed on the campus over the last week, according to
local media reports. Denton County Public Health continues to
test SSLC residents.
