SD 14 special: Poll paid for by charter school group shows Sara Eckhardt with big lead over Rep. Eddie Rodriguez
The group says they have interest in the race because there are roughly 16,000 students in charters in SD14; Rep. Rodriguez’s campaign calls it “a laughably bad push poll conducted by an anti-public education organization”

A poll paid for by a group
that advocates for charter schools in Texas shows former Travis County Judge Sara
Eckhardt with a substantial lead over Rep. Eddie Rodriguez,
D-Austin, in the July special election to succeed former Sen. Kirk Watson,
D-Austin.
But Rodriguez’s camp was
quick to dismiss it as a “push poll” from a group that’s
against his candidacy. The group, though, said they have great interest in the
race because Senate District 14 is home to 51 charter schools
attended by nearly 16,000 students.
