On call for lawmakers, ERCOT has no estimate for full restoration of power
After being pushed by lawmakers, ERCOT would only say it could be “days” before power is restored for all customers; in an email to members ERCOT said “Even if there is good progress, returning to normal conditions is going to take additional time.”
As the state’s electric
grid becomes a focal point of the legislative session – Gov. Greg Abbott just
made reforming it an emergency item – the Electric Reliability Council of
Texas faced questions from some lawmakers during a conference call but
had few real answers. That’s according to multiple sources
who participated in the conversation.
Some of the legislators on
the call were dialing in from their cars because they had to charge their phones
– many of them also have no electricity in their homes.
