HK: Patrick lays out priorities, some big and some bite size
While their legislative numbers dwindle, it’s clear the rural vote is critical to the future of the GOP
Lt. Governor Dan
Patrick this week laid out some of his major priorities for the upcoming
session.
This is likely to be
Patrick’s last term in office and unless lightning strikes and Greg Abbott
moves to a prestigious D.C. address, the Lite Guv is
landlocked. Although never specifically stated, Patrick seemed aware that his
time is limited and his twelve years as a statewide officeholder leaves a
legacy, whether intended or not.
Patrick’s recurring frame
was that he did not intend to leave the “building” without having addressed
long term challenges like property taxes and the electricity grid.
