Religious Right leader, former Judge Paul Pressler vows to fight allegations he raped teen for years

Jared Woodfill, First Baptist Houston and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary also named as defendants; Woodfill says it’s an attempt to “extort money from the Southern Baptist Convention.”

A lawsuit filed in Harris County and obtained by Quorum Report alleges former state representative and justice on the 14th Court of Appeals Paul Pressler molested a man named Gareld Duane Rollins for decades beginning in 1979, when Rollins was 14, through the year 2014.

Pressler, through his attorney, vehemently denies the accusations and said he will fight the suit seeking $1 million in damages.

The suit names Pressler and his wife Nancy, his law partner Jared Woodfill, the First Baptist Church of Houston and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and its president, the Rev. Paige Patterson of Fort Worth.
