Long time lobbyist Cary Roberts has passed away, services in Abilene on Sunday at Elmwood Funeral Parlor

Roberts was a pioneer in working with the Texas Civil Justice League and was active in multiple legislative races.

Jay Williamson and Dennis Kearns of Vigil LLC said:

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our friend, colleague, and mentor, Cary Roberts, passed away on December 3 after a long illness.

“Cary meant so much to so many around the Capitol. His experience, integrity, and reputation among state lawmakers, staff, clients, and fellow legislative consultants were second to none. Words can’t describe a person like Cary or his impact on each of us.

“We ask that you keep Cary’s family in your prayers during this difficult time.”

Visitation and funeral services will held in Abilene on Sunday, Dec. 10. A celebration of Cary Robert’s’ life is being planned by Capitol friends for January 2024 in Austin. Details will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
