Attorney for Chairman Capriglione strongly suggests Current Revolt may be slapped with a lawsuit over planned report

As rumors
circulate about why Texas House DOGE Chairman Giovanni Capriglione
made the sudden decision this week to retire, his attorney suggested there may
be repercussions if he’s defamed.
Writing to
Tony Ortiz, publisher of Current Revolt, attorney Rogge
Dunn said, “We have reason to believe you are going to publish false,
misleading, and defamatory statements about Representative Capriglione.”
“Even worse
– you are planning to publish same not out of the pursuit of journalistic excellence,
but to encourage people to become paid subscribers to your website.”
Ortiz
posted the email from Dunn to his social media account. In the email, the
attorney for Rep. Capriglione cited recent cases in which ABC and CBS paid out
millions after President Donald Trump took them to court over various
reports.
“Representative
Capriglione is not looking for a fight, but I can assure you he will not stand
by idly and have you or anyone else spread falsehoods about him and try to
trash his good reputation, which he spent years to build – and will vigorously
defend,” Dunn said.
